Birmingham Nature Centre (2.5 miles)

2.5 miles (5 minute drive) from The Beeches
Located on Pershore Road, the Birmingham Nature Centre is home to a wide range of animals from around the globe. These include some captivating and charismatic creatures such as Meerkats, Lemurs and Otters.

The centre is gradually changing its’ focus from purely a collection of interesting animals, to a centre for conservation. As part of this programme the centre has a wide collection of endangered reptiles and plays an important role in their international breeding programme.

Whether you are interested in conservation or just want a fun day out, the Birmingham Nature Centre offers something for everyone. From the first weekend in April the centre opens from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm. During the winter (from the last weekend in October) opening times are from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.

Feeding times are extremely popular with visitors and also provide great photo opportunities. Times do vary so check on www.birmingham.gov.uk/naturecentre for details. [Image Source: Birmingham Nature Centre (8 of 14).jpg by Joanne Goldby under Creative Commons Licence – image cropped]
